American Community Survey: Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau that provides statistical profiles of American communities. Good source of information for local economic developers and government officials.
American Fact Finder: Basic search tool for census data from the decennial census, economic survey and American Community survey.
CenStats Databases: Searchable census databases covering statistics such as buildings permits, county business patterns, international trade data, and more.
Census of Agriculture: Source of uniform data on number of farms, land use, agricultural production, and operator characteristics for each county, state, and the country. Census data from 2002, 1997, and 1992 is available.
Economic Census: Data from the most recent United States economic census.
Geographical Mobility/Migration (Census Bueau): Census Bureau site detailing movement of people within the United States from one place to another.
Historical Census Browser: Population statistics from 1790 through 1960 census data.
Population Reference Bureau DataFinder: Reports and statistical summaries related to world population studies. The site arranges data by topic (aging, education, etc.), region (Europe, Latin America, etc.) and country.
U.S. Census Bureau: Official site offering comprehensive coverage of economic and demographic data.
U.S. Census Bureau - Poverty: Poverty statistics, reports, and related information.

Office of Research (Ohio Development Services Agency): Online reports documenting major Ohio employers, industries, county profiles and foreign corporations in Ohio. Also includes population and demographic statistics.

County and City Data Book: Census statistics at the city and county level with updated estimates from local sources.
County Business Patterns: Economic profiles of counties and states for employment, payroll, and number of establishments by industry. Also includes Metro Business Patterns and Zip Code Business Patterns.
County-Level Population Data: Provided by the Economic Research Service of the USDA, this site also provides percent population change statistics from 1990 to the present by State or County.
