Farewell, Dorothy Parker

Ellen Meister

A timid Manhattan film critic channels the ghost of famed satirist and screenwriter Dorothy Parker in Meister's (The Other Life, 2011) fun romantic comedy. Violet Epps just can't stand up for herself. She knows she needs to get rid of her freeloading boyfriend and rein in her mouthy assistant. But she's too shy to do it. Then a trip to the Algonquin Hotel--former hangout of Dorothy Parker--changes everything. Suddenly Violet is being given advice by Parker's spirit. Will Parker's advice help Violet turn her life around--romantically and otherwise? Sweetly captivating.
