E. E. Charlton-Trujillo

Local author Charlton-Trujillo's (Feels Like Home, 2007) third novel is a hard-hitting look at the life of high school freshman Angie, who sees herself the way everyone else does, as Fat Angie. She is belittled by her mother, bullied at school, and is the only one in Dryfalls, Ohio who thinks her war-hero sister is still alive in Iraq. Angie overeats to relieve her pain and attempts suicide before befriending the slang-talking new girl in combat boots and skull-and-crossbones fishnets, KC Romance. She treats Angie like a real person because KC knows all too well that the package doesn’t always match what’s inside.
