A Memoir of Tourette's, Faith, Strength, and the Power of Family
Josh Hanagarne

A 6’7” Mormon librarian at the Salt Lake City Public Library recounts his struggle with Tourette’s syndrome in this quirky, humorous memoir. At age six, Josh Hanagarne began exhibiting the symptoms of this little-understood disorder, including uncontrollable physical tics (blinking) and vocalizations (barking). His love of books--from Charlotte’s Web to Stephen King--provided refuge from the taunts of his classmates, but no treatment helped, until a former U.S. Air Force Tech Sergeant taught him to control his tics through strength training.
