An Autobiography of My Appetites
Kate Christensen

Novelist and blogger Kate Christensen (The Astral, 2001) pens a memoir of her life as seen through her two greatest passions: food and writing. Her book begins with a recollection of a violent argument between her parents over breakfast. Her mother divorced soon after, and took Christensen and her sisters to Arizona. She ate comfort food, crash dieted, drank, wrote about her loneliness, spent a year cooking in France, and eventually became a writer in New York. In the tradition of Ruth Reichl’s Comfort Me with Apples, Christensen’s “celebration of appetite, complete with savory recipes, genuinely satisfies.” (Kirkus Reviews)
