The Long, Long Line

Tomoko Ohmura

Fifty animals in a long, long line eagerly anticipate something good at the end of their journey. Starting with the smallest animal, number 50 is a tiny green frog. Then comes a lizard, mouse, and mole. As the numbers decrease the animal sizes increase until they reach #1 -a giant whale that jumps in and out of the water. The roller coaster whale is such fun the animals scramble to get back in the long, long line. Clever comments from the animals make the wait amusing: The armadillo, stuck behind the skunk complains "It stinks!" The final foldout page with all the animals on the whale is a visual treat. A delightful counting tale with a huge variety of amusing animals. Ages 4-7
