Knockout Games

G. Neri

Neri’s (Ghetto Cowboy, 2011) gritty, urban drama is partially inspired by real events. After her parents separate, 15-year- old Erica finds herself in a rougher neighborhood and school than she's used to and her only refuge is the video camera her father gave her. She falls under the influence of a charismatic boy known as Kalvin, the Knockout King, and starts filming the activities of his "TKO" club, a gang who assault random passersby with the intention of knocking them out. As the group becomes increasingly out of control, with eventual fatal results, Erica struggles to escape the club and Kalvin's tightening grip.
