Out of the Blue
Scottish author Cameron’s fantasy debut looks at questions of faith, morality, and the afterlife. Eight months ago, angelic creatures known as Beings began falling from the sky and dying on impact. The global phenomenon has reached cult status and Jaya Mackenzie's father is obsessed with catching one of the winged creatures. He's quit his job and moved the family to Edinburgh where he's convinced the next arrival will occur. But Jaya, having recently lost her mother, is too consumed with grief to be caught up in the frenzy. The last thing she expects is to have a female Being land right in front of her injured but still alive. Rather than risk her new friend's exploitation, she hides her from the authorities and nurses the creature back to health.
