The Last of the Doughboys:The Forgotten Generation and Their Forgotten World War
In 2003, Rubin began searching for veterans of World War I, looking to query them and record their experiences. It took him over a month just to find one. These were men and women born in the nineteenth-century, every one of them over 100 years old when interviewed, who became known as the Forgotten Generation. Although the last of them died in 2011, their stories will live on, thanks to Richard Rubin. A fitting tribute for the upcoming Memorial Day holiday.
