Every year, the Library adds thousands of items—books, videos, CDs, magazines, and more—to its collections. Each year, some of them are acclaimed by critics, some of them win prizes, and some wonderful titles create barely a ripple of public notice.
Each year, we ask the librarians in the Main Library subject departments to look back on this flood of materials and choose a few that they liked best: not necessarily the prizewinners or the bestsellers, just whatever they particularly enjoyed.
So here are a few of our favorite things from the year 2003. For more ideas, ask your librarians, since no two of us would come up with the same list.
