Just because the Library is temporarily closed to the public doesn't mean that our Librarians aren't still here to help you during these unprecedented times, particularly as it pertains to your employment or small business.
You can now call (513) 369-6900 to book virtual, 30-minute one-on-one appointments to help with everything from finding a job to navigating small business loans through our online My Librarian service.
"A lot of the main functions of the My Librarian program you’ve come to know over the years work the way they always have, but they're now virtual,” said Information & Reference Manager Ben Lathrop. “If you need one-on-one help with a Librarian during the COVID-19 stay-at-home order, we can talk on the phone, through email, or through the My Librarian chat service."

Our Adult Learning Center (ALC) has taken many of its popular services digital, including the LevelUp jobs program, online. "The Adult Learning Center has been serving customers for 10 years," said ALC Manager Keith Armour, "We look forward to serving you again face-to-face, but in the meantime let us help virtually so you can regain your footing."

My Librarian: Small Business help
One of our Library's goals throughout the year is to help entrepreneurs and small business owners on their path to success. Our Information & Reference department is adjusting during the COVID-19 stay-at-home gudelines to provide connections to resources like Cincinnati Works, The Ohio Development Services Agency, and the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, to name a few, for everything from small business loans, tax breaks, and more. It can be hard to understand where to turn and we can help you navigate the options and connect you with the proper resources.
“Right now, there is a lot of uncertainty in the economy, and small business owners are taking things one day at a time, just like the rest of us,” said Lathrop. “We're starting to see the government roll out legislation aimed at providing relief and helping the recovery, so we'll be finding what those agencies and resources are and helping to connect people to them.”
Small business help from My Librarian may include:
- Help downloading business eBooks or other digital materials
- Research assistance, including our grant database
- Basic computer assistance, including setting up an email or social media account
- Recommendations for community organizations that can provide further resources or assistance
