Stunning exhibits featuring books as art at Main Library

Step into a world of imagination found in the pages of art on display in two exhibits this summer, courtesy of the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and the Cincinnati Book Arts Society (CBAS). The 19th annual CBAS exhibit Bookworks runs May 19-Sept. 2 on the second-floor bridge at the Main Library. A coordinating exhibit, The , is open to the public June 11-July 23 in the Popular Library Department.

CBAS is a nonprofit organization Keith Kuhn Memorial Exhibitof professional and amateur hand workers in the book arts. There are two chances to walk through the Bookworks exhibit with an artist to learn more about the creative process. Those events are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19.

The Keith Kuhn Memorial Exhibit is curated in memory of former Library Services Directory Keith Kuhn, who was responsible for growing the Library’s special collection of book artworks. Many of the books are handmade by well-known international, national, and local artists.
