In-Person Research Databases

The following Library databases and online research resources are only available in *Library building locations. You need a valid Library card and PIN to access them.



The award-winning ABCmouse.com curriculum is designed to help young children (ages 2–8) build a strong foundation for academic success. ABCmouse.com offers more than 4,000 learning activities across all major subject areas including reading, math, science, social studies, art, and music.


*This resource is only available at the Downtown Main Library and the Green Township Branch.

Includes Cincinnati Archdiocese records, the Periodical Source Index (PERSI) of material and journal records from the databases of over 8,000 genealogy and history societies, over 2 billion historical records from around the world, including U.S. censuses from 1790, a large collection of Irish records, and U.S. military records from the Revolutionary War up to World War II. In addition, you’ll be able to explore millions of newspaper pages from as long ago as 1710.

During COVID-19, we offer two options for accessing this database. Either email history@cincinnatilibary.org and our staff can do the research for you, or you may schedule a My Librarian 30-minute appointment to use the database in person.
